Woke up in the car park at 7, probably looking like a little worse for wear, but got a good 8 hours kip. Trevour ambled over, still half asleep, despite the drive. Perfect timing, though, as I was about to embark on my culinary adventure of a Sunridge breakfast at 7:30. And let me tell you, their breakfast is good, they make you feel like royalty—even if half asleep royalty.

We wandered down to the course and both hit great drives down the first, avoiding the houses, following the instructions which told you to hit down the left as the houses had been damaged, slices for you right handlers and duck hooks for us lefties to be avoided. Those following will know the houses were at risk as I stood on the tee. All is well and all that.
We both played nicely, and I managed to get around in 89 despite missing a good few putts. The putt on the last, which I could see a break of a foot or so, went 6 feet to the left, and my misreads were consistently bad.

I am now at Wyatt’s Campsite in Denham enjoying a cup of tea and getting some dinner ready. An hour and a half’s drive from Sunridge and 20 minutes to Sandy Lodge which I am looking forward to seeing.
