Yes, one of my favourite clubhouse views. (A clubhouse view competition?) Well my arrival was a little challenging as it appears the secretary had not informed the pro shop of my tee time. As I was frantically trying to to find the email. They offered to fit me in at 12 40 with Alex, the investment manager. Apparently it has been a challenging month for his team. Who knew.
Anyway I then had an hour to wait. They gave me a range token, but the wind had blown down the netting so you could only use wedges 130 yard max. At that point I was tired a bit stressed and hungry so returned to the wonderful clubhouse for a breakfast. That made me feel better. The lot.

Had breakfast emptied that plate. Had to pause a few times.
Went to change and take relief in the locker room. That was quite different from my last visit when it was pleasant but I love the way they have updated it.

Went to, storm damaged range to loosen up and did a bit of putting before Alex and I strolled to the first tee. All this in freshly washed underwear and socks.
So onto the course and in Gogsiprical tour tradition hooked a drive that was well hit but trailing toward the player in the 9th Green. Fortunately a tree was in its path or we could have had another incident. Again as the round went on I improved, matching the instruction that Alex was giving me. I think I would be a much better player if I had a caddy. I asked Alex his favourite hole which he said was the tenth, with the view and the difficulty.

This is he hitting to the Green. The view was fantastic, but he unfortunately pulled this one left. (He didn’t miss many a really nice player). He told me to aim to the right where you could see the water between the trees and to take an extra club, which I did, and hit it to 8 feet.
I am settled in my campsite Caravan Club Edinburgh, which is coveniently located 5 mins from the golf course. I say that, I might get a bit of a fine as the sat nav took me down a busses only route which I only noticed half way down. This could be a very expensive stay.
I have a long day tomorrow, drive to Berwick upon Tweed, play in my final Open comp and then down to Leeds to stay at my Auntie Sandra’s.
